If you peel back the layers of me
You’d be shocked to find
Your heart beating, where it should be mine
Two souls passionately intertwined
Locked together
Crashing through time
I love you while I’m sleeping
In my dreams, you invade my mind
We collided,
folding into one another
Infinitely connected and eternally aligned
Your energy is infectious
Your love, it filled me up inside
But it was when I started to wither
That you began to thrive
You watched me unravel
While you came alive
With pieces of me
You told a tale
Depicted a love
Undoubtedly divine
And I wanted to give you everything
But your heart
It was never truly mine
